Two ways to do this. Buy something that already exists, which is faster and almost always cheaper, or have it made, which takes longer and gets you exactly the thing in your head.
Plenty of people walk in certain they want one and leave having chosen the other. Either is fine. What matters is seeing both before you commit, because the price difference is usually not what people expect.

The same stone in an older setting is routinely under a new one, and the setting is often better made.

- Is a custom ring more expensive than buying one?
- Usually yes, but not always, and the gap is smaller than people expect. Bringing your own stones closes it further. We will price both so you can compare before deciding.
- How long does a custom engagement ring take?
- It depends on the design and the stones, and we agree a timeline with you before any work starts rather than quoting a number that might not hold.
- Can you use the diamond from an inherited ring?
- Very often, yes, and it is one of the better ways to control the cost of a new ring. Centre stones usually transfer cleanly. Smaller accent stones and the original setting are more variable, and some older cuts sit differently in a modern mount. Bring it in and we will tell you what can be reused before you commit to anything.
