How do you spot a fake Gucci?
No single detail settles it. These are the three we check on every Gucci piece before it is listed, and the ones we look at first if you bring one in.
Serial tag and its stitching
The interior tag, its format for that era, and how it is attached. The stitching around a genuine tag is neat and consistent.
GG canvas registration
The pattern should be even and correctly placed across panels and seams. Misregistration is one of the more reliable tells.
Hardware and finish
Weight, plating and how the engraving is cut. Cast-and-polished fakes feel different in the hand from the real thing.
